Complete, wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling “reformation” of a three-bedroom, 175 square meter piso, in a relatively new building for a family of four…and two dogs.  The plans include a loft-like scheme with three defined volumes in the overall space: for the Kitchen, the Den and Children’s Bedrooms, and the Baths.  The volumes are defined by different coloration and lighting to give the sense of “floating” within the open loft.

Ceilings throughout have been both lowered to accommodate new central heating and cooling and other utilities, and lifted for sculptural installations. Every element of the piso, including a new concrete floor finish that is contrasted against the new, tiled floors of the volumes, tile-sheathed structural columns, separately detailed wood paneled closets and storage units, and a gourmet Kitchen that opens to both the re-worked Terrace and the new Salon, is part of an overall scheme that places emphasis on everyday livability in a dramatic design environment.
